Grass Fed Sheep Liver
Supreme Nutrition Products has decided to add several glandulars to its product line. Our glandulars are freeze dried, 100% grass fed, ovine (sheep) liver from young sheep raised in New Zealand. As with all of our products, there are no fillers, binders, flow agents or any other ingredients other than the capsule. We decided with our glandulars to use ovine as opposed to bovine (cow) sources. Ovine is one of the most hypoallergenic foods as well as one of the cleanest domesticated animals. Also ovine is generally harvested at a younger age vs bovine.
Even though bovine sources work well, ovine in our opinion is a superior source. Also, many products on the market are from non-organic, non-grass fed animals or from countries with less ideal growing conditions than New Zealand.
The concept of glandular therapy is that oral ingestion of certain animal-gland material will strengthen the corresponding gland in humans (“like treats like” as it will have all the enzymes, hormones and co-factors the gland needs for proper functioning).
A 2019 study in the journal Animals (1) states that ovine (sheep) liver as opposed to bovine (cow) is higher in iron, manganese, and essential fatty acids. In general liver is a superfood being a superb source of B vitamins (especially B12, folate, and choline), retinol (the active form of Vitamin A), zinc and magnesium, essential fatty acids, vitamin K2, CoQ10, etc. It is about as close as you can get to a 100% multivitamin/mineral without the synthetic, factory manufactured multi vitamins and minerals.
Most vitamins (including Vitamin A, B vitamins, etc.) are made in a factory overseas as a byproduct of genetically modified bacteria and/or fungi. Eating Liver is the true way to get all of the vitamin benefits, but in a truly natural method, and not a synthetic vitamin made in a foreign lab.
It may be more advantageous to eat liver, but only if you like it and can find 100% grass fed, organic liver though cooking it may destroy some of the nutrients. Our capsules are a convenient way of getting all the benefits of this organ.
Dosage: 2-4 capsules once per day for general wellbeing.
