Uva Ursi, also known as bearberry, is traditionally used in european herbal medicine. Historical uses include treatment of kidney stones, diabetes, gonorrhea, edema, urinary tract infections, and as a diuretic.* In modern medicine Uva Ursi is most often used to help those with Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs), showing inhibitory effects against Staphllococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.* It also has been shown to be effective against Neisseria gonorrheae, Mycobacterium smegmatis, Shigella sonnei and Shigella flexeneri, H. Pylori, Candida albicans, and many other microbes.*
